Linear Pivot Irrigation System

Lineer Pivot Sulama Sistemi

A linear pivot irrigation system (also called a lateral move irrigation machine): a long span of steel towers on wheels carries the water pipe and drop sprinklers across the full width of the field and travels along it in a straight line, watering the field strip by strip. The drive cart at one end is fed with water through a hose and moves the whole span. The photos and the video show the system at work in the field.

What I did

  • Electrical and automation systems of the irrigation machine: drive control of the towers and the control panel on the drive cart.
  • Alignment: keeping the long span straight and moving together as it travels along the field.
  • On site: installation, testing and commissioning of the linear irrigation system in the field.

Routing Optimization

At Başarsoft I lead the optimization and development of the routing services behind the company's location products: the services that turn raw map data into routes, reachable areas and delivery plans.

What I did

  • Leading the optimization and development of the company’s core routing, Traveling Salesman (TSP), Vehicle Routing (VRP) and isochrone services.
  • Developing the time-distance matrix service that calculates travel times and distances between points on raw map data.
  • Built a TSP with time windows (TSPTW) solution tailored to the requirements of Yurtiçi Kargo to make their delivery operations more efficient.
En Gündem Haber news website

Personal

En Gündem Haber

En Gündem Haber is a Turkish news website run by a bot I built. The bot automatically researches current news, finds a relevant image for each story and writes its headline, so the site stays up to date without manual editing.

What I did

  • Designed and built the news bot end to end.
  • Automatic news research to find current stories.
  • Finding a relevant image for every story.
  • Generating a headline for each news item and publishing it on the website.

Leopard 2A4 Test Consoles

At MK Mekatronik Defence Technology I worked on the localization of Leopard 2A4 tank subsystems used by the Turkish Armed Forces: test consoles, their processor architectures and reverse-engineered replacement boards.

What I did

  • Turret Stabilization Test Console (04/2022 – 04/2023): designed a processor architecture that integrates 14 separate circuit boards.
  • Location Transmitter Console (01/2023 – 04/2023): designed a processor architecture that integrates 6 circuit boards.
  • Gear Test Console (04/2022 – 03/2023): reverse-engineered the transmission control board for local production and replicated the complex six-layer PCB.
  • Firmware for STM32 and PIC microcontrollers in C/C++.

Games

Car Parking Extreme

A car parking game I developed in my spare time and published on Google Play under the name Quartz Games.

What I did

  • Designed and developed the game in Unity with C#.
  • Published it on Google Play.
Flame detector PCB designs

Embedded & Hardware

High-Speed Flame Detector

A high-speed flame detection sensor developed at Savendel Electronics Control Systems. It detects flames by comparing ultraviolet (UV) and infrared (IR) light, which makes detection more accurate and reliable in fire safety applications.

What I did

  • Developed the detection method that compares UV and IR light wavelengths.
  • Designed the circuit boards in EAGLE.
  • Wrote bare-metal firmware for an STM32F1 microcontroller in C.

DesignNOW plant irrigation system PCB render

Embedded & Hardware

DesignNOW Hackathon

At the Autodesk and IEEE DesignNOW hackathon my team designed a plant irrigation system and won 1st place among 77 teams.

What I did

  • Designed the plant irrigation system as a team, from idea to product design.
  • Electronics and PCB design with Autodesk EAGLE; product design with Fusion 360.
  • Ranked 1st out of 77 teams.
Home-built radio telescope dish on its azimuth mount

Personal

Radio Telescope

A personal project in which I built a radio telescope from scratch. The antenna rotates on the azimuth axis, communicates over Wi-Fi and is controlled from a web interface served by a local server.

What I did

  • Mechanics: designed and built the azimuth-axis rotating mount.
  • Electronics: motor control and Wi-Fi communication.
  • Software: a local server with a web interface to control the telescope.

Embedded & Hardware

Lodos Electromobile

Lodos is Düzce University’s electric vehicle team that competes in the TÜBİTAK Efficiency Challenge. As team captain I also worked on the car’s electronics: the vehicle control system, the battery management system and the battery charger.

What I did

  • Vehicle Control System (2018): Linux-based control panel written with Qt; lights, horn and wipers controlled by an ATmega328P over SPI; LoRa and MQTT communication.
  • Battery Management System (2019): for a 16S22P Li-ion pack, with active cell balancing, overload protection, an isolated power supply and multi-channel temperature monitoring and protection.
  • Li-ion Charger (2020): 16S, 10 A, 500 W charger based on a full-bridge buck converter topology, including the PCB design.
